It's been a while since I last posted, so I thought i'd start slowly with a film review of Martin Scorsese's Oscar winning production, Hugo.
I know it may be a year overdue with the film being released early December last year, but the trailer simply caught my eye, and so it began...

Insurance Comparison Websites
Last night I innocently went on Insurance comparison site Money Supermarket as i sometimes do, mainly out of boredom due to the lack of programs on the television.
I went on eBay and found a hypothetical car to insure, and then went to see how cheap i could get the insurance for this car. All this seems fair enough, right? That's what i though anyway.

Where to live? UK or USA: A Prospective View
Neither
the UK nor the USA are great places to live. With buzzwords such as “shrinks”,
“falling”, “slows”, “deficit” and “doubt” plastered on the walls of economic
news, coming at living standards from an angle purely defined by trade and
industry would be inaccurate. Instead why not look into the one thing that
really matters to people; themselves, their lives, their homes, the people that
surround them. At the end of the
day they don’t care about what the net pro-rata income figure for an average individual before tax per annum
is because, chances are, it doesn’t apply to them. The closest normal,
run-of-the-mill people come to GDP is seeing their General Dental Practitioner
because they’ve eaten too much crackling at Christmas.

Great Journalists
“And that’s the way it is”
He was known by some as ‘Old
Ironpants’, ‘Uncle Walter’ and even ‘King of the Anchormen’. Of course I refer
to broadcast journalist Walter Leland Cronkite.
Lead anchor at CBS Evening News for
19 years, he started breaking the boundaries even after a year. He was the
first anchor to have a half-hourly nightly news program in America, expanding
from 15 minutes in September 1963.

Technology and Sport
Blind footballers are trialing a new system - named 'The Sound of Football' - that lets them see using a new system which has been created. I find this fascinating.

Iphoneography
Recently I have discovered the phenomenon of 'Iphoneography'. Although not owning an iPhone myself, I still find it fascinating that everyone can now become a photographer. The particular attraction of course is the point-and-shoot nature of the the iPhone, and that it's always there to catch the perfect moment.
